The Healing Space
About Me
“Therapy is a gift. It is a chance to finally be heard, understood, and supported.”
— Bessel van der Kolk

Professional
I earned my undergraduate degrees in Social Work and Psychology from Weber State University, graduating magna cum laude. I went on to earn my Master of Social Work, with a forensic concentration, from the University of Utah.
At the onset of my social work career in 2013, I had the opportunity to work within the legal system, where I expanded my knowledge of forensic social work, including substance abuse and intimate partner violence. This experience led me to private practice, where I became immersed in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions. It was in private practice that my clinical skills deepened and my passion for mental health flourished. I later went on to manage a team of therapists and mentor clinicians in developing and implementing trauma-informed care. I opened my private practice, The Healing Space, as the next step in my professional growth.
My theoretical approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). More recently, I completed training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and received an in-depth Level One Training through the official IFS Institute in Internal Family Systems (IFS) to become an IFS Trained Therapist. My clinical interests include comprehensive mental health treatment for adults, with a specialization in depression and anxiety, trauma-informed therapy, and providing therapy for therapists.
When I reflect on my professional experience, the training I have completed, and the knowledge I have gained along the way, I am drawn to this quote: “Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul.” — C.G. Jung
My hope is that while my professional background provides the tools and knowledge to be a competent therapist, when we sit down together, we are simply two human beings connecting.
Personal
Early in life, I was drawn to people’s stories. As a young girl, you could often find me wrapped up in a book series that captured the human experience of resilience. As life progressed, I had the privilege of pursuing an education that allowed me to fully lean into the curiosity I first discovered as a child. When I found the path of becoming a therapist, I immediately felt at home.
Over the past several years, I’ve had the honor of hearing people’s stories and walking alongside them on their healing journeys. Through these experiences, I’ve been reminded of the importance of caring for myself and staying connected to what keeps me grounded. My husband and children keep me anchored and are my greatest supports.
I enjoy long-distance running with a good playlist and watching the morning sun rise over the mountains. Being in nature reminds me of the beauty of slowing down and is one of my greatest ways to reset. I also love biking, writing, and anything cookie dough. My husband and I will always find an excuse to get the kids to bed early so we can enjoy a Netflix series together.
I’m excited to get to know you.
Reaching out is a meaningful first step, and I’m honored you’re considering this space for your healing journey.
