FAQ
Answers to common questions
about working together.
My services are available to Utah residents who are 18 years of age or older.
Medical insurance has many advantages and can be a great tool for receiving the care you need. In my experience as a therapist, I have observed that utilizing insurance can place limitations on the care you receive for your mental well-being.
After years of considering these limitations, I have chosen to become an out-of-network provider. This allows me greater flexibility to provide quality care for all people who seek my services, not just those who fit the medical model outlined by most insurance companies.
This is a great question, and the answer may be yes—if you meet the diagnostic criteria for a medical condition.
If you do and have out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a superbill. A superbill includes important details such as:
The type of service provided
Diagnostic code
Provider and client information
Proof of payment
You can submit this to your insurance company, and they may reimburse you based on your out-of-network benefits.
You can find more information about this process in the Rates section.
Finding the right therapist is an important part of the therapy process. This website provides information about my background, specialties, and approach to help you determine whether my services align with your needs and goals.
If you have additional questions or would like to learn more, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us an opportunity to discuss what you’re looking for in therapy and whether working together feels like a good fit.
A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, including your initial session.
If less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, a $100 cancellation fee will be charged to the card on file.
Late cancellations make it difficult to offer that appointment time to another client. This fee helps support the sustainability of the practice rather than serving as a punitive measure.
If there are extenuating circumstances related to your late cancellation, please reach out.
Yes. In addition to in-person appointments, I offer Telehealth sessions through a HIPAA-compliant platform for Utah residents who are physically located in Utah at the time of their appointment.
A Good Faith Estimate is a detailed breakdown of the expected costs for your therapy sessions.
It is required under the No Surprises Act, a federal law designed to give clients clear information about the cost of care before services are provided.
The estimate outlines:
Fees for the services you are likely to receive
Any anticipated costs related to your care
Providing a Good Faith Estimate helps you:
Understand the potential cost of therapy upfront
Plan for your budget or insurance reimbursements
Avoid unexpected fees
If you would like a Good Faith Estimate for your sessions, please let me know when you reach out.
I am happy to provide this information so you can make informed decisions about your care.
